How to Read a Sewer Repair Estimate
A single number for "sewer repair" can hide a trench, a liner, a patio, and a permit. The useful estimate is short and specific. It should be readable without a salesman in the room.

How do we get to the pipe. Cleanout, pit in the yard, sawcut in a slab, pulled toilet. If the only way in is under a kitchen that was just finished, that disruption is part of the price, not a surprise on day two.
The repair itself
Spot repair of a marked joint, a burst replacement between two pits, an open trench of a stated length, a liner of a stated diameter. The camera finding should be named: offset at forty feet, roots at one joint, orangeburg flat at the parkway. If the paper does not say what failed, it is a guess.
What gets put back
Soil, concrete, a cleanout you did not have, and who patches whose surface. A price that ends at "pipe installed" has left the expensive part unsaid. Ask for the recording. You paid for it.
Questions people ask before they call
Do I need a camera if the drain is running again? If this is the second time, yes. A clearing that does not last is the reason to look.
Will I get the recording? Yes. It is yours.
If water is on the floor, call 818-631-7296. The form can wait.
