Sewer Backup or a Clogged Drain in Los Angeles
A slow bathroom sink is often the trap. Water in the tub when the washer drains is the building line. Those are different trucks, different prices, and different amounts of damage if you keep using the water.

A single clog
One sink, one tub, or one toilet, and the other fixtures behave. The stop is local: a trap full of hair, a toy, a belly in a short branch. A cable from that fixture may be the whole job. It is not a reason to price a new lateral.
A main backup
The lowest drain in the house speaks first. Flush an upstairs toilet and the downstairs shower answers. More than one fixture on the same stack is slow. That is the line leaving the building, and it may be yours to the city connection. Stop running water. A camera, after enough of a clearing to see, is the next fact.
Rain is a clue, not a diagnosis
A rainy block and a dry Tuesday are different stories. City mains surcharge in a storm. A dry-day backup is more often the private lateral. We do not sell a replacement because the neighborhood flooded, and we do not blame the city because one toilet overflowed at noon.
Questions people ask before they call
Do I need a camera if the drain is running again? If this is the second time, yes. A clearing that does not last is the reason to look.
Will I get the recording? Yes. It is yours.
If water is on the floor, call 818-631-7296. The form can wait.
